I think most of us had a “lovey” when we were kids. I certainly was no different. In my case, I fell in love with a number of different bears right from the start.
My own children also have a lovey. He is a character from Disney’s Winnie the Pooh adventures, and, if I must admit, a fun guy. In our house, he goes by the name Heffy and comes in the form of a big, squishy, purple elephant.
Heffy was a newborn gift to Giancarlo, but since Lucia turned about one, “Hef” has taken on an entirely new identity and importance. He is everywhere I go, and when I can’t find him, I am instructed to go looking.
Lucky for me, Heffy has a few consistent hang-outs…
I’ll find him in my bed or Giancarlo’s.

Too sweet!! So I have to ask…did Heffy get himself into that gym bag?? Thank goodness he can still breathe with his trunk sticking out like that! hehe.

How cute! I had one…he was a racoon, though.

Love it, love it, love it! My Abigail now has TWO lovies which is a little more stressful for me since I have to keep track of both, “blankie” and “doggie.” Sorry I haven’t been commenting lately you 3 chicks are some bloggin’ fools and it’s hard to keep up!

Very cute!
I have a huge collections of stuff toys, too. They are in the Philippines. I would probably start all over again here in US.

That is too cute!! I had (still have!) a yellow blanket my great grandmother made me

What gorgeous photos – and your son is a real cutie!

None of mine really focused on one thing. I was the lovey! My 19month old is like a crack addict if he can’t get to my hair.
LOVE the pictures.

My kids did not attach themselves to stuffed animals or blankets. My son just had to have the pacifier. Sheesh, we are boring!

love that last one! soft toys are such a huge part of their lives, aren’t they?

Heffy! OMG! Mine was “Charley” and he was the coolest monkey on the block in D-Town, Texas. You couldn’t tell him anything. He took a mad beating though.

How sweet! We have a pink kitty cat at our house that participates in everything right along with us.

We have blankie and mousie! But blankie should be called raggie by now!

I don’t remember my lovey. But I remember my kid’s loveys. A year and a half ago, my youngest one lost her lovey, she called it Babydoll, at Meijer. Of course it never showed up in lost and found. We had to buy another one. We had to get it shipped next day and it was 50 bucks! But the look on her face when Babydoll came back was priceless. Just awesome.

I love the one where his snout is coming out of the pack!

My kids never had one particular lovey. They take very good care of their toys though (too good – their rooms are getting full!), esp. their favorite ones. As they’ve gotten older, my job has become tougher. Not only do I need to know the names and current whereabouts of all the toys, lately, I’ve been required to tell them where and when (so we can celebrate birthdays) and from who we received each and every toy… and no making stuff up either, they catch me!

I had a little blue bear which I called my “baby sister”. I always wanted a baby sister, but I never got one.
One day at the doctors the doctor asked me something and I told him all about my baby sister, only ever referring to it as my baby sister.
The doctor shot mum a quizzical look as he had been the family doctor for years and knew nothing about a little girl, and mum had to explain the whole thing to him.

Heffy is cute. I had a stuffed elephant as a kid too. His name was Packy. I love that thing…funny what we remember about childhood, isn’t it?

When I was home this weekend, my mom was going through an old memory box, and it had my “lala” and my brother’s “roo.” Man, I loved that blankie…

I had Snoopy and my sister had Snoopy's sister Belle. My kids rotate between several, you never know who's hot each week.

I love this post. It reminds me of the pink mouse that my father bought me as my first toy that we called Missy Mousy. After all of these years she is still alive and kickin, but she’s much smaller then I remember

I have a few lovey’s too, I actually need to write a post about my most recent lovey….his name is “Poppy” and he is a loveable old plastic bottle I dug up from the neighbors yard. Oh Poppy, how I love thee!

Heffy is AWESOME! I want a purple elephant to hang with all day. Might make me feel a bit less big and awkward. Damn second trimester.
Oh, and I read your comment about your no-so-green heart. You make me laugh!

Too cute, my son had a blankie, and took that to college with him, but packed in a box…that elephant is too cute! Oh, I had a ‘foamy’- the name on my teddy bears label, but he bit the dust in an drive by accident when I first got married. I think hubby intentionally ran him over…jealousy!

he is MUCH cuter than the hef i recently posted.

Tooo cute! Whoever says they never had a favorite stuffie growing up either has selective memory or they’re covering up something

Aww, that is so cute. We have gone through a couple of Heffys in the form of:
doggy
kitty
blue (a blanket)
rainbow (another blanket)
and now Kit (American Doll).
As you can see, the monetary value increases as our girls age!
