I mean, it could be Kacey. The last time we got together was on New Year’s Eve. A lot can change in a short time. Maybe she just hasn’t shared the happy news with me…yet.
For now, it turns out that I am the one who is pregnant. It’s true. Baby # 3 is set to arrive on August 18.
I am still holding out hope that Kacey will jump on the bandwagon. Who knows? Maybe the next post she writes will be entitled, “Hey Fran, You’re Right. I’m Pregnant too. You don’t have to go through this alone. I went the distance as your friend and got myself knocked up.”
It could happen. Isn’t that what any BFF worth her salt would do?
I’ve read a lot about the strength of the “real friendships” formed via the blogosphere. If that is true, then I’ll be expecting many of our readers, in addition to Kacey, to jump on the pregnancy band wagon with me. Think of it as “The Pregnancy Pact,” ala Lifetime TV. Everyone should join in the fun.
In addition to the potential fame and fortune we could all realize after Lifetime buys our story, I put together a short list of reasons of why everyone should get pregnant in 2010. I mean, if I have to revise my New Year’s Resolutions list and not indulge excessively in drinking, then I do not want to be alone.
Reason # 1:
You can finally be just like Demi Moore and take those pregnancy photos you’ve always secretly dreamed about:

I mean, who doesn't want a photo like this hanging in their entry way?
Reason # 2:
Your friends are doing it. Namely, I am pregnant and it would inevitably bring us closer together. I think. Then again, it might not, but you’ll only know if you try.
Reason # 3:
If your man is a commitment-phobe, you might finally be able to get him down the aisle.
Reason # 4:
It could be like starting a new hobby. As an added bonus, you won’t be able to quit or put things on the shelf when things get hard. Think of it as the 18 year hobby you never knew you wanted.
I’m sure there are plenty of other reasons that I haven’t even considered of why we should all take The Pregnancy Pact. Feel free to wow me and add onto my list.

Congratulations! SO happy for you : )
You are so right,
I DO want pictures of me naked and pregnant.

Congratulations!!! I know I have always really wanted a professional picture of me pregnant. I actually took my own pic every month from 5 months along last time. I was so happy to have them. We’ll see we have three under 5 right now. Right now the hubby is at his limit!

Congrats on baby #3!!!
Ha! Love your reasons for the pregnancy pact but, uh, I think I may opt out of this one. I don’t quite have the courage (and energy) to even go for #2 yet!

I’m so sorry, but I think I’ll refrain from the 2010 pregnancy pact. I mean, I can’t promise anything one way or another, but I’m certainly going to attempt to refrain… even if all the other ladies are doing it. I’ve just never been one to follow the crowd.
But I’m happy and excited for you!

Wow!! Congratulations!
I can’t “quite” join you in the pregnancy pact as I’m “fixed”… but I did take in a 14 year old daughter for at least 6 months to 4 years AND I don’t drink. Does that count?
I’m very happy for you!

A request for people to consider the ethics of buying maternity clothes. Really, if people are willing to bring a child in this world, it’s only right to ensure the planet remains in a good state! So do try and consider, for example, the cloth the clothes are made from, the human rights of the factories where they’re manufactured and the ethics of the clothes retailer. And try to share, instead of discarding. Thanks!!!!
