I mean, it could be Kacey. The last time we got together was on New Year’s Eve. A lot can change in a short time. Maybe she just hasn’t shared the happy news with me…yet.
For now, it turns out that I am the one who is pregnant. It’s true. Baby # 3 is set to arrive on August 18.
I am still holding out hope that Kacey will jump on the bandwagon. Who knows? Maybe the next post she writes will be entitled, “Hey Fran, You’re Right. I’m Pregnant too. You don’t have to go through this alone. I went the distance as your friend and got myself knocked up.”
It could happen. Isn’t that what any BFF worth her salt would do?
I’ve read a lot about the strength of the “real friendships” formed via the blogosphere. If that is true, then I’ll be expecting many of our readers, in addition to Kacey, to jump on the pregnancy band wagon with me. Think of it as “The Pregnancy Pact,” ala Lifetime TV. Everyone should join in the fun.
In addition to the potential fame and fortune we could all realize after Lifetime buys our story, I put together a short list of reasons of why everyone should get pregnant in 2010. I mean, if I have to revise my New Year’s Resolutions list and not indulge excessively in drinking, then I do not want to be alone.
Reason # 1:
You can finally be just like Demi Moore and take those pregnancy photos you’ve always secretly dreamed about:

I mean, who doesn't want a photo like this hanging in their entry way?
Reason # 2:
Your friends are doing it. Namely, I am pregnant and it would inevitably bring us closer together. I think. Then again, it might not, but you’ll only know if you try.
Reason # 3:
If your man is a commitment-phobe, you might finally be able to get him down the aisle.
Reason # 4:
It could be like starting a new hobby. As an added bonus, you won’t be able to quit or put things on the shelf when things get hard. Think of it as the 18 year hobby you never knew you wanted.
I’m sure there are plenty of other reasons that I haven’t even considered of why we should all take The Pregnancy Pact. Feel free to wow me and add onto my list.

I am so jealous. Is it bad to only want a baby for the blog fodder?
But, eeekkkkkk!!!!! I am so happy for you!!!!
[Reply]
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
Okay, it seems like EVERYONE is having a third child these day! I want a third child, too. I love the newborn stage! It’s just that… my two boys are such a handful right now… and I am not getting any younger… and my husband would laugh at me if I hinted at wanted a third child, because he thinks I can barely handle the two boys we already have! And… well… sigh. What a hard decision it is, you know?

Congratulations Francesca!!! OMG! If you have a little girl can you name her Severina!!!! I kid, I kid (not really, that would totally be cool if you did). That is so awesome and my friends and I are planning a pregnancy pact right now. Totally watching the movie on Lifetime this weekend to get tips
[Reply]
What?! I can’t believe it! So you’ve been busy….
Congratulations, friend!
[Reply]
Sorry Fran, been there done that!! With an 8 week old and an insane 2 1/2 year old, the last thing I am thinking about is doing this again any time soon! Congrats and I can’t wait to find out what you’re having! I might have to sew you a little something when we find out!
[Reply]
Congratulations to you Francesca!
Hey, I’ve taken the pregnancy pact too – I’m due June 3. And I definitely plan on getting my picture taken à la Demi Moore.

Hooray! I always knew you were a kindred spirit, Erin. I heart you. If needed, I’d be happy to go the distance and fly to Utah so that we may take our Demi pictures together.
Because that is just the type of friend I am.
[Reply]
Yay! Congrats to you!
And you probably have already figured out that I set my DVR to record The Pregnancy Pact, last week. How I love Lifetime.

Does life even exist without Lifetime TV? As you know, all good things come from a made-for-TV movie, my friend.

Woohoo!!! Congrats!!! I’ll tell Rob we HAVE to get knocked up with #5 now, because the Incomparable Francesca said so. He’ll totally go for it.

This is the type of support that I have come to adore and rely on you for, Heidi. Please extend my thanks and gratitude to Rob as well.
Mwah!!

This pact was made with out Rob’s initial consent.
Although Rob realizes the odds of Heidi not getting knocked up with number 5 is pretty slim, Rob would like to “feel” like he is part of the discussion.
ah…who am I kidding, I’m just along for the ride
and really have no say in such matters.

Handsome AND smart. Wow, Rob! I can definitely see why Heidi married you. I like a guy who knows his place in the world.
Haha!
Congratulations!! I so know what you mean. I was never prego at the same time with any of my close friends but I won’t jumping on the prego train with you – our family of 5 is complete.
[Reply]
Hey, I already started this wagon.. I am due July 8th. So can we be friends?
Congrats!! You and your husband are about to be out numbered. But this will also be #3 for me, so we can morn/laugh/cry together

I welcome you to my inner circle with open arms, Emmy, and thank you for being pregnant. We will definitely have to set up our group support meetings before too long. Lord only knows that I am going to need them!
In all seriousness, though, congratulations to you! I am thrilled that you will be welcoming # 3 into your family too.

I JUST had a dream that I was preggo again. The hubby wasn’t as excited about the idea as I was. He seems to think 3 little people are plenty.

Maybe it wasn’t so much of a dream, as a premonition?!?
Oh, and I would definitely ensure that your husband reads this post, Natalie. After doing so, I’m sure he’ll be ready to jump on the bandwagon.
[Reply]
Congrats to you! As I am currently single and don’t see any changes to that on the horizon, I will have to forego your pact. But good luck:)
[Reply]
Congratulations Francesca! I’d join the pregnancy pact, but…..just the thought of having another baby right now makes me a little crazy. But I’m happy for you!
[Reply]
Yeah!!! For you! I am happy for you. And I am I kinda bored with my life so I will go and get my tubes retied and jump on your pregnancy bandwagon. I just might have to find a new husband first.
[Reply]
OK girl. I’m already in the 3 club. Welcome! I’m thrilled for you. Actually a little bird told me. And yes.. Kacey should take one for the team and have a third as well.

Those birds. I tell you, they can’t be trusted!
I actually posted a note on Keri’s blog with the news in an attempt to get her to call me. Needless to say, as a true friend, she called almost immediately and wanted to know if I was joking.
[Reply]
Yeah!!! That’s such exciting news…congratulations!!
If I could absolutely guarantee with no uncertainty that I wouldn’t have a 3rd set of twins, I’d probably join you. But, darn it, I just remembered that I had my tubes tied with my last c-section! I’ll have to live vicariously through you!

You, my dear, are definitely exempt from the pregnancy pact. After two sets of twins, you are a beacon of light to us all.
Rest assured that I will be calling you for survival tips, though.
[Reply]
Congratulations! I don’t think I’ll be jumping on that bandwagon anytime soon…but you never know! lol
[Reply]
Oh how exciting! Unfortunately, I can not make a pregnancy pact with you. The husband has his “date” with the urologist on Monday!
The nerd won’t even let me blog about it. Weenie.

That is hilarious, Sara. I love that your husband won’t let you blog about his “date.” My husband is a stickler about the topics I do and do not blog about too. Namely, nothing about him.
You are not alone!
[Reply]
Yeah! Congratulations!
If you want, you can pretend I am pregnant as part of a bloggy pregnancy pact, but I am due before you (July). It’s apparently in the water because I know A LOT of people that are having babies in 2010!
[Reply]
Congrats! That is so awesome. You better post your pregnancy pictures:) Not the ones like Demi’s but the other ones. LOL
[Reply]
wow! congrats! such a fun addition to your family!
[Reply]
I *might* consider getting knocked up just for you….because it really does sound like the cool thing to do………but………oh, who am I kidding…….I’m totally unable. And not of the inclination. But. I’ll be here for you every step of the way. When are you posting that pregnant naked shot anyway?

I can kind of understand, BV. You do already have two pretty amazing kids. Why mess with perfection?
If you and your husband *happen* to reconsider, know that I will be here, ready to welcome you with open arms.

Awesome news!!! Congratulations!! Tell Kacey that we’ll be waiting for THAT post!!
[Reply]
You already know how thrilled I am for you guys! And I’m beyond happy that you are joining the Three Kids Club. (All of the cool moms are in it.) Kace: let’s take one for the team, shall we? Emi needs a little sister or brother to boss around..er, um, I mean love.

Reason #5: Because I am too.
Congrats and welcome to the wagon. The ride’s kinda bumpy, but the view is fantastic.

Congratulations, Chessie!!!! I’m so frickin’ excited for you! But F*** you! I am NOT having another baby! I’m too old for that and even if I wasn’t, I’m DONE. Also, a person has to actually have SEX to get pregnant… last time I checked… and I haven’t done THAT in a VERY long time.
So, I’ll live vicariously through you.

Here are other reasons to join The Pregnancy Pact:
We could swap maternity clothes.
There has never been a pregnancy cult before so we would be pioneers and maybe Oprah would feature us
.
As a group we might be able to negotiate a discount on medical care.
