I’ve never been very good about saying good-bye. I’m much more likely to duck out of a party without a word and be on my way. Good-byes can be so awkward. Do you hug? Kiss on the cheek? Throw your arm up in the air for a high five?
I’m much better at hello. I am also a firm believer in doing what you are good at.
That being said, let’s open up Mayhem & Moxie by saying hello and welcome. Getting this site up and running has been in the works for quite a while. While it means that we must bid our old blog, Three Bay B Chicks, farewell, we move forward with the energy and excitement that comes from starting something new.
And why not start something new with a bang?
Even though we were on a break from blogging for the latter half of the summer, we didn’t leave social media behind completely. Quite the opposite. We were hard at work laying the foundation for a network of women bloggers, known as Moxie Media, whose goal is to raise the bar when it comes to advertising using social media and find ways to engage the blogging community in creative and interactive ways.
To help draw attention to our group, as well as to what it means to have moxie, we enlisted the help of the only person we knew who could find moxified people across the U.S. and unite them in a week-long event filled with fun and interactive posts, giveaways, and blog hopping.
Meet Mona.
Moxie Mona is traveling through most of the 50 states via the blogosphere in an attempt to unite people with moxie. During her trek, she’ll also be teaching us a bit about what’s happening in different parts of the U.S.
All next week, you can join in the fun by coming here and following the list of bloggers Mona is visiting, as well as participating in the carnivals we’ve organized. Linking your blog to these sites is a fun opportunity to get your blog a little extra traffic and make some new friends:
Tribute Tuesday: hosted by Mayhem & Moxie
Since summer has officially ended, take a moment to look back and pay tribute to one of the season’s most beloved past-times, the summer vacation. Topic options include: 1) the most outrageous person you met while traveling, 2) the best (or worst) hotel you ever stayed in, 3) someone on your trip who saved the day, 4) the weight you gained while on vacation, 5) the book that made your vacation endurable.
Wordful Wednesday: hosted by Seven Clown Circus
Showcase and talk about a photograph from a time when you took a trip like Mona. What did you do over your summer vacation? How about pictures from a favorite trip you’ve taken?
Writer’s Workshop Thursday: hosted by Mama’s Losin’ It
Play along with Mama Kat using one of the following writing prompts: 1) If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? 2) Moxie is defined as the ability to face difficulty with spirit and courage; bold energy. Describe a time when you showed moxie. 3) Write a poem about a loved one who has shown you moxie. What have you learned from them? 4) If you were a super hero, what would your super power be and why? 5) A superhero can save you from what ails you….what is your request?
Give Me Your Best Shot Friday: hosted by Better in Bulk
On the last day of Mona’s trek, link up and show pictures with a super hero theme. For example, pictures from past holidays, pics of your kids dressing up, or simply someone who has super hero status in your eyes.

Thuy, here. Pooba, thanks for asking about me. Let’s just say that there was a massive falling out between Team Francesca and Kacey and Team Thuy…Indeed, there were lots of hair pulling, plenty of name calling followed by “Oh no you didn’t!” complete with head-shaking and finger-wagging, and of course, the need for physical restraint from our personal bodyguards (yes, we’ve gotten that famous that the need for security was much needed).
There’s even a video of it on You Tube! I’m even making t-shirts that you can buy…Okay, I am totally kidding!! I know I had you all completely fooled!!
I wish there was true drama to share because drama always bring in a crowd, but alas, no such thing. I just switched job a few months ago and it’s a whole different role than what I was doing before so I needed more time to focus on learning my job, taking night classes to hone new skills, and in general, just spend more time with my family.
When invited, I will occasionally post for Mayhem and Moxie. Because you know I still have lots of tips and deals to share. I will be around to support my pals, of course! The new site looks awesome, friends!
