Another post, another disclaimer: Today’s Tribute Tuesday post was originally scheduled to focus on your favorite body part. However, due to a scheduling snafu, the topic was postponed. If you didn’t read yesterday’s post, were super organized, and actually planned your post in advance, we love you for the support. As a thank you, will be giving you a double (maybe even triple?) entry to today’s giveaway.
There are many things about the fall season that I love, such as the cold weather, the holidays, and the fact that all of my favorite TV shows are back on. Mostly, I love how excited my kids get about Halloween. From costumes to candy, they are at an age now where they understand what is going on. We’ve even started going on practice trick or treat runs around the house. I am prepping Giancarlo not to yell quite so loud at our neighbors come October 31. As for Lucia, she’s got the routine down pat, but still insists on carrying three bags at a time.
Like I said, we’re working on it.
Aside from the trick or treating, my kid’s have nothing but pure love for pumpkins. As we approached the grocery store yesterday, Lucia started yelling, “ump-kins, ump-kins” and the two of them took off running.

I wasn’t exactly sure how I was going to get them into the store with me. Lucia disappeared inside a pumpkin bin and Giancarlo started lugging a pumpkin three times his size to a grocery cart. I thought it best to divide and conquer. I’d help Giancarlo first and then move onto Lucia. Turns out that was a bad decision. In the few minutes that I wasn’t immediately by my little girl’s side, she got to work. Lucia loaded about a dozen mini pumpkins into our grocery cart and then moved onto the more than slightly scary decorated pumpkins.

I managed to coax Lucia into putting back about half of the mini pumpkins, but was definitely not as successful with the pre-decorated items.

I guess the good news is that it makes our house easy to find. Coming to my neighborhood soon? Just look for the crazy assortment of pumpkins in front of the house with the red door. My personal favorite is the male alterna-pumpkin with the pink cowboy hat and feather boa.
We like to keep it real.
Now, it’s your turn. Tell us your favorite fall indulgence.
(If you are new to Tribute Tuesday, you can learn everything you need to know here.)
Everyone who participates in today’s Tribute Tuesday will automatically be entered into a drawing for a pink long sleeve baby heart pocket shirt from Playdate N.Y.C. (Sizes range from 3-6, 6-12, or 12-18 months.)
All girls like to carry around their necessities with them…and this shirt lets you! It is an ultra soft tye-dye thermal waffle-weave in 100% cotton. The heart pocket is purple or fuchsia vinyl with a silver zipper. As an additional incentive to check out the store, Playdate N.Y.C. has committed to donate 20% of all sales from pink and purple apparel to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to help support breast cancer research. Donations run now through the end of October.
Good luck!

My favorite thing about fall is our annual family harvest activity. My dad grows a garden all spring and summer, and the first Monday in October all his children in the near vicinity come with their kids and pick pumpkins, squash, carrots…whatever they can find in the garden. Then we have a hot dog and s’mores roast and just enjoy family company.

We are putting off our visit to the patch until next weekend (since Mommy will be partyin’ it up w/some awesome ladies, present company included, in Vegas this weekend!), but the dudes are already excited. And, if I happen to win the shirt feel free to donate it to another person b/c as much as I’d love someone to dress in pink around here, Hubby is full up of me trying to pretend #3 is a girl!

I’m glad Nate doesn’t have an obsession with pumpkins. I asked him yesterday if he wanted to go to the pumpkin patch and he said no!! Too bad kid. I am dressing you in that blasted Batman costume you had to have and posing you with some pumpkins! I’m the mom and it’s not about you, ahem. Sorry.

It’s so fun to see all of the pumpkins out – those store bought painted ones tend to be a little creepy, but I always love seeing the ones that people have taken home and painted themselves.

love all the painted pumpkins, my kids are on fall break and you just gave me an idea on another activity to do! Love Halloween, this Halloween I will be at work all day, but I’m gonna have a Halloween party two days before to make up for it and see my kids all dressed up:)

Aww, I love Fall. LOVE it. But sadly, we don’t get Fall down here in GA. Just heat heat and more heat. Hard to get in the Fall mood…. My favorite Fall indulgence though is a recipe for Pumpkin Scones..JUST LIKE the ones Starbucks used to carry. I make them the first really cool weekend we have. Which is to say I haven’t made them yet….
